Prairie Primrose

Fields of prairie primrose in bloom near the Pawnee National Grassland in June 2009, during reportedly one of the best displays in many years.
The huge storm cloud behind catching the last of the sun is very characteristic of the weather during the weeks preceding the the day this was shot. As the sun set, the lightning flickering through the clouds became clear.
