Archangel Cascades

Archangel Cascades

October 2009

Archangel Cascades are found on the hike to the Subway. Taking Left Fork trailhead off the Kolob Terrace Road (you need to obtain a permit from the Park Service in advance), the path leads some 400 feet down to the creek. Following upstream for some 4 miles, you eventually come to the first in a series of spectacular cascades with the water meandering over slick red rock. In autumn, the fallen yellow leaves make for a spectacular scene.

The first couple of cascades are only the warm-up act: I couldn’t quite believe it, but it just keeps getting better as you proceed upstream and eventually, Archangel Cascades are revealed in their full glory.
